Experience
Mr. Alwine is a trial lawyer who represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. He has litigated cases involving breach of contract, business torts, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, fraudulent transfers, professional negligence, shareholder rights, breach of employment agreements, covenants not to compete, real estate and sales commission agreements, and class action litigation, among others.
Mr. Alwine began his legal career with the United States Navy, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, serving as a prosecutor and defense counsel in Washington, D.C. and Sicily, Italy. Mr. Alwine defended and prosecuted U.S. service members charged with crimes under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the United States Code. While overseas with the Navy, Mr. Alwine practiced in Sicily, Naples, Sardinia, Germany, and Bahrain. He was awarded the American Bar Association Award for Professional Excellence, the Navy Achievement Medal (with gold star), the National Defense Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon (with bronze star), and the Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon. He left active duty service and returned to Miami, Florida in 2004 where he has practiced primarily in the areas of contract disputes and business litigation.
