Mr. Alwine is a trial lawyer who represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels.He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation and real estate litigation.  As a former active duty Naval Officer and current reserve officer with United States Navy, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, Mr. Alwine also devotes a portion of his practice to national and international maritime law.

Mr. Alwine began his legal career with the United States Navy, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, serving as a prosecutor and defense counsel in Washington, D.C. and Sicily, Italy.  While overseas with the Navy, Mr. Alwine practiced in Sicily, Naples, Sardinia, Germany, and Bahrain.  He has been awarded the American Bar Association Award for Professional Excellence (for attaining highest standing upon graduation from Naval Justice School), the Navy Achievement Medal (twice), the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (twice), the National Defense Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon.  He continues to serve as a reserve officer with the U.S. Navy.  In 2013, he was recognized for his work with civil litigation division of the Office of the Judge Advocate General (Code 14) by being awarded the Rear Admiral Hugh H. Howell, Jr. Award of Excellence (Junior Officer).
